He began his musical studies aged seven, in the elementary music school in Igualada (Escola Municipal de Música d’Igualada). When he was ten he joined the Escolania de Montserrat, where he studied for four years. In these four years he sang many times as a soloist, accompanied by orchestras such as the Orquestra del Teatre Lliure and the Orquestra Barroca Catalana. He then continued his musical studies in the Escola Municipal de Música d’Igualada, where he studied middle-grade piano (as his secondary instrument), cello and singing.
